Food is as bad as drug addiction,People will argue this one but its true. Its lonely if you are embarrassed, By your parents never bringing friends home.I always did cause dad had a great way with people,Its only the past few years that he has become a embarrassment,Falling deeper everyday into his recliner.Eating and dying because of what the food has done to him.Don't limit yourself or hide in seclusion for their mistakes reach out.You need to receive what your not getting at home elsewhere. You may think your alone though just because food rules your house does not mean it should rule you.I hope you realize this before you do something self destructive ,Get out and socialize leaving the problem at home instead of hurting your self like mom and dad are doing.I highly doubt people like this could possibly be happy even though they always smile. It a fake smile to get by.Of course I have never said a word,But harbor lots of resentment and know when he is gone will hate myself for that. | Wha do you think is the social class position of obese teenagers? So anything, I don't care about stuff like ''damn, girl, get off your butt and do some exercise!!'' as long you can also give some good advice on how to loose weight!
Other stuff: I'm a vegetarian, No allergies, Not living in a very friendly 'neighborhood', walk to school every day (usually takes 10-20 minutes), I have asthma, nearly everybody on my dad's side of the family is obese too! Oh happy days :( | Well i don't kow some of your regular daily habits, as far as food and excercise goes, but i give you some general advie that may help you.
1.Don't drink your calories (soda, Rcoffee, smoothies, shakes, etc.)
2.Make sure to eat breakfast. It is proven that those that eat breakfast, consume fewer calories than those that skip it.
3. Get at least 7 hours of sleep, food is not the only fuel your body needs.
4. Get at least 30 minutes of excercise 5 days a week, even if it is just marching in place while watching TV.
5. Know your RDA (Reccomended Daily Allowance) aka how many calories, fat, carbs, protein, fiber, etc. you need for your specific needs.
6. Try to drink at least 6 glasses of water daily, which enabl | I am an obese teenager. Yeah, I know....? Got your attention? Good. I'm obese. I have been my whole life. Everyone in my family is. Not just my immediate, but my extended, too, on both sides. I don't eat a lot, and when I do, it's mostly...well, vegetarian. We have four vegetarians in a family of seven. But that's not the point.
What I'm trying to say is that I want to -- of course I want to -- lose weight. I want to be allowed to feel pretty and not have people laugh at me when I go clothes shopping. But every time I try to start any sort of... program, I guess, for myself...it flops. I don't have constant access to exercise equipment. In my house, it's considered rude if you ask for something other than what's on your plate, even if what we eat at my house isn't really all that unhealthy.
What can I do? | Dietary changes:
Small changes really add up. I cut cola out of my diet and it's helped a lot.
If you don't have time to cook healthy meals buy a slow cooker. Chop up a bunch of veggies and some meat, throw it all in with some water and you have a healthy meal...but in a slow cooker you can get the food cut up and in the cooker in the morning and have it ready for dinner.
Exercise:
I walk my son to and from school so I'm making activity a part of my life, while the walk alone won't drastically change me overnight the concept or idea of working fitness into your daily routine and can really help. Walk instead of taking a car/bus not only does it save you money on gas/bus fair but it's a great way to squeeze in that extra bit of exercise.
While you are studying take jumping jack breaks, not only does this incorporate exercise into your day but in increases the oxygen flow to your brain which keeps you more focused and helps you learn things easier.
When you are reading class material try doing bicep curls, before long it will be second nature and you'll be able to focus on the reading while squeezing in that extra bit of exercise. (just use some light weight dumbbells that can be stored in your desk/out of the way). You could also use a resistance band if you prefer.
If you can wake up 20 minutes earlier try squeezing in the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels. It is an interval training dvd and everyone I know has had results from using it, best of all each session is only 20 minutes long.
Healthy supplements can increase the vitamins and anti-oxidents in your body and help your metabolism run faster.
I hope these ideas help you, good luck =) | I'm an obese teenager? I am a 17 year old girl, and super obese. I'm 270, 5'7". I got a gym membership, and I go on the elliptical for 30 minutes, but then I can't even move my legs after that. I have no idea how long I should exercise for my weight. I can't afford a personal trainer or nutritionist at all. I used to just walk outside for 30-40 minutes, but I got harassed twice. Someone threw a McDonalds bag at me, and screamed, "FAT B*TCH KEEP WALKING!" Then the second time, someone threw a soda bottle at me and screamed, "DRINK IT FAT A**!"
How long should I exercise, being 270 pounds? And what exercising should I try? Please, I want to be at least 200 by my high school graduation. | First the people who have insulted you are cowards. I was obese for most of my adult life and no one ever said a word who was not surrounded by his friends. That's because I'm a man and six three. Women always get these losers-and sometimes these losers are other women!!!
Listen I am an anti-social person pretty much but for the short time I was at a gym I found that there are a boat load of decent people there. They will not only not mind helping you but it will make their day. They look like they should be arrogant scum because they are so strong an good looking, many of them anyway; but, alas, my conception of these people as jerks was far off the mark. Men and women will be glad to help you. If a person is not in the middle of his/her routine sidle up and just ask if it is all right to ask a few questions. You will be pleasantly surprised.
I'm fifty and have lost 137 pounds in a year by eating mostly fruit vegetables and peanuts. I have had a few miserable days but if I can do it, anybody can.
Try to find others to walk with or walk on the track at the gym. | I am a MORBIDLY OBESE teenager.... please help!? so basically all of my life i have been overweight. my dad was abusive to my mom and i when i was little and he always called ( and still does) fat. i guess the main reason i am morbidly obese is becuz of him. basically i am 16 and weigh 300 pounds. most of my moms side of the family is big too but a lot of them have lost most of the fatness. i have one aunt who is really really big (she weighs almost 500 lbs) and i REALLY dont want to become like her. i have an eating disorder becuz i feel the need to eat ALL of the time, even if i just ate 10 seconds ago. i sneak food into my room and eat it.... and after i feel so guilty! and ive tried to throw up what i eat but i cant even do that! ive contemplated suicide a number of times but cant bring myself to do it cuz of my family. i am just so sick of being the fattest one wherever i go and always feeling like the big elephant no one wants to acknowlege wit my friends. im also sick of not being able to wear any "normal" clothes... | Other than the first answer, the others are practical and good suggestions.
Focus on starting to exercise more. Start with walks once or more times per day. At first you will find you may not have the stamina to go very far. Gradually increase the lengths of your walks. If you have access to a swimming pool, swim also - a great aerobic exercise.
When it comes to eating, do eat three meals. Focus on lean protein, vegetables and fruit. You can find a calorie counter on the internet. Also there are sites that show how many calories per day you should eat for your weight. The site below is a good one.
