What foot cream is good for really tough feet? I have tried several OTC foot lotions/creams. I have gotten professional pedicures too. I have even used the "ped egg" and various foot files. My feet get very tender after using these files, but the rough skin is still there. What is an effective foot cream/product to soften my feet? |
| Zim's Crack Cream. Ridiculous name, fantastic product. My ex had extremely dry, cracked and tough skin on his feet and the tips of his fingers. When it became particularly bad (i.e. during the winter), he would slather a bit of this stuff on and wrap with a rubber glove (on the hand) or a sock (foot, obviously), and sleep overnight with it on. That is only necessary in extreme cases, because I have used it before on less severely tough skin of my own without having to cover it with anything and it worked great. |
What is the best foot cream for dry&cracked feet? Not anything fancy or expensive. Something you can get from a regular chemist or a regular shop.
My feet are dry and cracked. They also are quite hard on the parts that I walk on.
I want soft, pretty feet!
Besides the cream, is there anything else I should be doing? |
First, go out and buy a PedEgg (as long as you're not a diabetic). It should only be $9.99 at a Walmart, Publix, CVS, Walgreens, etc. Then buy Olay Heated Foot Scrub - it is not that expensive either. It's a scrub that heats on contact. As far as creams or lotion, you can get any cheap brand like Vaseline, Nivea, Olay, or basic Walgreens/CVS brand, just anything that says deep hydrating or intense, etc.
Go home, do NOT get your feet wet, and PedEgg them. All around the heels, the sides of the foot, the balls of your feet, etc. Brush off any dead skin, and then soak your feet for like 20-30 minutes in hot water - you can add essential oils or sea salts if you want, but it's not necessary. When you take them out, use the Olay Heated Foot Scrub, and really scrub and massage your feet with them. Rinse, DO NOT DRY, and immediately apply a generous amount of the lotion of your choice. Put socks on (sometimes I use two pairs on one foot) and wear them as long as possible - sometimes it's best to do this at night before you go to bed.
After a few days to a week of this, you should be able to do it just 1 to 3 times a week, and have nice smooth feet again! If you keep up with it, they won't get so bad if you keep up with it. |
How often during the day do you use HAND CREAM/FEET CREAM ? And also when ? Suggestions ? Thanks. |
| in morning and in the night |
What is a good/reliable foot cream for cracked feet? During the colder and winter months my feet get a bit cracked and in rough shape. What is a good foot cream that keeps them smooth? Also, where I can get it, i.e.-Walmart, Walgreens, etc. Also, price? |
The best solution: put a thick coat of Vaseline on your feet and out on cotton socks before bed, sleep in them all night to soak in.
You can get both cotton socks and vaseline (or any petroleum jelly) at Wal-Mart for less than $5.
Another thing that will help: Paraffin Dips on your feet. There is a paraffin wax warmer at Wal-Mart by Dr. Schols for Her. (www.walmart.com/ip/Paraffin-Bath-… It is $30 and comes with wax, plastic baggies, and thermal mitts (you can fit your feet in them).
How to:
1. Plug in wax warmer and melt wax
2. Coat feet in heavy lotion/cream
3. Dip feet in, lift up, repeat 3 times
4. Let excess wax drip off and cover with plastic wrap or the provided baggies
5. place in thermal mitts and wrap in blanket/towel for extra warmth
6. Leave on at least 20 minutes (can be much longer)
6. Remove - peels off very easily |
How can I keep my feet in good condition? I get quite dry feet and at the moment have cracked heels. I am going to start using a Shea Butter foot cream on a daily basis, but wonder if there is anything else I should be doing to make sure my feet are well looked after? Preferably things that are easy - I know I won't be able to keep up with using a foot file, for example. |
| simple but easy...go to cvs, walmart, walgreens or any drugstore near u and get the cheapest apricot scrub (usually with the facial lotion and soap section) and use a sqirt of that on ur feet while they are still dry and then rinse it off in the shower...it exfoliates better if u do it before ur skin gets wet in the shower!! then put baby oil gel on ur feet and cover them with socks before u go to bed and u will have soft baby smooth feet in a few days...trust me it works!! |
Will applying dermal analgesic cream on my feet help the soreness? I am wearing crappy shoes, and my feet are burning and sore! Will numbing cream like emla, help sooth the pain? |
| A little, it only numbs the surface but that's better than nothing. You may want to look into insoles for your shoes to stop it happening in the first place though. |
How can I make my feet really soft? I have really cracked feet, and nothing I do seems to make the cracks go away. I've soaked my feet in warm water and used something to scrub them. I also put foot cream on them, but it doesn't help. What else could I do to help my feet? Any suggestions would help. |
| Have you tried "soaking" (applying lotion on your feet) & wearing socks throughout the night? C",) Apply powder under your feet &/or just pump a little in each sock so they don't smell or feel icky. |
What is the best way to soothe sore achy feet? i just got a new job where i work anywhere from 10 to 12 hours a day and im constantly moving....i barely get to sit down and by the end of the day my feel are KILLING me. they hurt so bad and nothing will make the pain go away. i've tried epsom salts and foot creams, massages....anyone else have some magic remedy to cure achy sore feet? |
| I'm in the same situation. I have no idea how to keep my feet from hurting in the first place, but a long foot soak really helps my feet unwind. The pain doesn't totally go away, but I can flex then and walk without such severe pain. >__< Maybe get one of those 'luxury foot baths'? I got one tonight and it was amazing. |
How can i soften my heels and feet? What can i do to soften the skin on my feet?
I don't want answers saying:- Get a pedicure or Get some foot cream.
I want answers that tell me how to do it. Preferably without creams and stuff. |
Get a good facial scrub with grit in it.
Use it on your feet at the tail end of a shower and rinse well.
This helps remove the dead skin on your feet.
Apply lotion as usual |
What I should so with this problem on the bottom of my feet? The bottom of my feet have been itching, and irritating me for months now. It is still itching, and irritating me. It is not getting any better. I have tried to put on certain types of foot cream, and athlete's foot cream on it as well. Nothing is workingr, it is making it worse. What should I do? I have no idea what it is. |
| stop self medicating and see a PODIATRIST (foot doctor). They can answer all your questions and give you peace of mind as to how to treat any condition you have. |
